Brownies Unit Leader / Unit Leader in Training


Location: Central Romsey and Amplified


Brownies Unit Leader /Unit Leader in Training Role Purpose:


As a unit leader, assistant leader, or leader-in-training, you’ll join a team of volunteers to run one of our rainbow units across Romsey. Within this role, you will plan meetings and deliver awesome activities. If you’d like to become a leader, we’ll support you to complete our Leader development programme.


Brownies Unit Leader /Unit Leader in Training Role Duties:

  • Help plan and deliver activities which are based on our Girlguiding programme. These are accessible and inclusive. Often, they’re planned by volunteers and girls at the beginning of the term.

  • You’ll attend your unit meeting each week or fortnightly and run activities with the girls and other volunteers.

  • Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Girlguiding, so you’ll help provide a safe, girl-only space where every girl and young woman can participate.

  • To help with unit admin like accounts and unit records.


The duties of a unit leader or assistant leader can be flexible as you work within a team of leaders where job share can take place to manage workload.

Please note that this is a volunteer role; this description is not part of any employment contract. As part of this role, you may be required to complete A Safe Space Levels 1, 2 and 3, plus do a disclosure check for this role.
