Guides Unit Helper

Location: Across Romsey Division

Guides Unit Helper Role Purpose:

As a unit helper you’ll give girls opportunities for fun, friendship, challenge, and adventure! You’ll usually work with other volunteers to help run fantastic activities, whilst keeping our members safe.

Unit helpers assist the unit leadership team in running the unit. You’ll be part of a leadership team that includes at least one unit leader, assistant leaders, young leaders, and other unit helpers.

No two units are the same, meaning all unit helpers do slightly different things. There is a lot of space to make this role your own.

Guides Unit Helper Role Duties:

  • Help plan and deliver activities which are based on our Girlguiding programme. These are accessible and inclusive. Often, they’re planned by volunteers and girls at the beginning of the term.

  • You’ll attend your unit meeting each week or fortnightly and run activities with the girls and other volunteers.

  • Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Girlguiding, so you’ll help provide a safe, girl-only space where every girl and young woman can participate.

How to get involved?

If you are interested, please contact us for an informal meeting with our Division Commissioner by emailing ggromseydivcomm@gmail.com.
